Villa d'Este Lake Como facade and gardens — celebrity wedding venues you can book

The Celebrity Wedding Venues You Can Actually Book

The short version

The celebrity wedding map of the past year runs through addresses you can book: Villa d'Este and Villa Balbiano on Lake Como, Aman Venice on the Grand Canal, and Hotel Esencia on Mexico's Riviera Maya. Bezos, Logan Paul, and Justin Theroux all said yes at places that take reservations.

For three days in June 2025, Venice belonged to one wedding. Two hundred guests, a vaporetto's worth of A-listers, vows on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore, and a closing-night party inside the Arsenale, the city's medieval shipyard. The Bezos-Sánchez wedding was the loudest "I do" in years — and it kicked off twelve months in which the world's most photographed couples kept choosing the same kind of venue.

Not private compounds. Not undisclosed islands. Hotels and villas with reservation systems. That is the part the coverage skipped: most of the rooms in these wedding photos are bookable by anyone who knows to ask.

Where Did the Biggest Weddings of the Past Year Happen?

Two countries did most of the work: Italy and Mexico. Lake Como hosted two of the splashiest weddings of summer 2025 within a fortnight of each other, Venice hosted the biggest one of the decade, and Mexico's Riviera Maya delivered the most stylish low-key version. Here is who married where — and what each address offers when the confetti is gone.

Villa d'Este, Lake Como

Logan Paul married Nina Agdal at Villa d'Este on August 15, 2025, two years after proposing on the same lake. The setting needs no introduction to anyone who follows the Como circuit: a 16th-century cardinal's villa in Cernobbio that has operated as a grand hotel since 1873, with gardens running down to the water and the famous floating pool moored just offshore.

You don't need a wedding to justify it. Book a lake-view room, take breakfast on the balcony, and spend an afternoon being ferried around by the hotel's wooden launch. It pairs naturally with the rest of our Lake Como guide — Como rewards a two-hotel itinerary.

Villa Balbiano, Lake Como

Thirteen days after the Paul-Agdal wedding, Becca Bloom — the internet's favorite finance heiress — married David Pownall at Villa Balbiano on August 28, 2025. Same lake, different proposition: Balbiano is not a hotel but the largest private residence on Lake Como, a late-16th-century palazzo built for Cardinal Tolomeo Gallio, with six suites done by interior designer Jacques Garcia, a pool, a private pier, and a boathouse.

The trivia worth repeating at dinner: Cardinal Gallio is behind both addresses. The man built Villa d'Este and Villa Balbiano four centuries before either appeared on a wedding feed. Balbiano books as a full private hire through The Heritage Collection — one party, the whole villa, staff included.

Aman Venice

The Bezos wedding was technically a city-wide event, but its home base was Aman Venice, the 16th-century Palazzo Papadopoli on the Grand Canal where the couple stayed and where George and Amal Clooney signed their papers a decade earlier. The vows happened across the water on San Giorgio Maggiore; the Arsenale closed the weekend. Oprah, DiCaprio, Gates, and Jagger filled out the guest list.

The palazzo itself is the play for civilians: frescoed piano nobile salons, a private garden on the canal — a rarity in Venice — and the kind of staff-to-guest ratio that makes the city's crowds feel theoretical. If the suite matters to you, you are in famous-suite territory: rooms here have hosted more boldface names than most award shows.

Hotel Esencia, Riviera Maya

The most quietly chic wedding of the year happened in March 2025, when Justin Theroux married Nicole Brydon Bloom at Hotel Esencia on Xpu-Há beach, between Playa del Carmen and Tulum. Three days: a beach bonfire on Thursday, rehearsal dinner Friday, vows Saturday, mariachi throughout, after-party in the hotel's speakeasy bar. Vogue got the photos.

Esencia is the anti-Tulum — no crowds, no DJ residency, a former private estate turned hideaway where the jungle does the soundproofing. It books out fast in winter; the move is shoulder season, when you get the same beach with half the audience.

Can You Book These Venues Yourself?

Yes — that is the point. Villa d'Este, Aman Venice, and Hotel Esencia are working hotels; you can sleep where the wedding party slept next week. Villa Balbiano operates as a full private hire, which is exactly how the wedding used it. Full property buyouts for an event are a different conversation — pricing is on request and lead times run long, especially for summer dates on Como — but a stay requires nothing more than a reservation made early enough.

The one model you can't copy is the Gomez-Blanco version: Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco married on September 27, 2025 around a private estate in Santa Barbara's Hope Ranch — beautiful, and not bookable. For everyone else on this list, the venue is open. Where the couples went afterward is its own story.

What You Actually Want to Know

Where did Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez get married?
In Venice, June 26-28, 2025. Vows were exchanged on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore, guests were based around Aman Venice in Palazzo Papadopoli, and the final party took over the Arsenale.

Can you stay at Villa d'Este?
Yes. It has been a hotel since 1873 and runs a March-to-November season. Lake-view rooms and the floating pool are the reasons to go; book months ahead for summer.

Is Villa Balbiano a hotel?
No — it is a private residence hired in its entirety through The Heritage Collection, with six suites. You take the whole villa or nothing, which is why it suits weddings.

What does a wedding at one of these venues cost?
All of them price events on request, and the honest answer is: it depends on dates, guest count, and how much of the property you take. What is predictable is the lead time — prime summer dates on Como and in Venice are spoken for a year or more out.
