Four Seasons Hotel Mykonos Opens Late Summer 2026 — What to Know

The Greek islands have had a Four Seasons problem — or rather, the absence of one. Every other major Mediterranean luxury destination has one. The Maldives has several. Greece, with arguably the most beautiful collection of islands on earth, has had the Four Seasons Astir Palace in Athens and nothing on the water. That changes this summer.

Four Seasons Hotel Mykonos opens in late summer 2026 on a cliffside above Kalo Livadi Bay — and it is not a brand applying its name to an existing property. It is 94 accommodations built from scratch on 6 hectares of undeveloped Aegean coastline, designed by Greek architect Nicos Valsamakis, with direct access to two private beaches, two infinity pools, and a restaurant programme by the Rockwell Group. The waitlist is already live.

TL;DR: Four Seasons Hotel Mykonos opens late summer 2026 above Kalo Livadi Bay — 94 sea-view accommodations including 30+ suites with private plunge pools, 4 restaurants and bars, a hillside spa with 6 treatment rooms, 2 infinity pools, 2 private beaches, a boat jetty, and a yoga pavilion. Designed in traditional Cycladic style by Nicos Valsamakis with interiors by Wimberly Interiors and a dining programme by Rockwell Group. It is the first Four Seasons on a Greek island.

Why this opening is different

Mykonos already has Cavo Tagoo, Bill & Coo, and the general chaos of peak season. What it hasn't had is a property with Four Seasons operational standards, scale, and direct beach access all in one address. Kalo Livadi Bay — on the southeastern side of the island — is significantly quieter than the main drag around Mykonos Town and Little Venice, which is precisely the point. The resort is designed to feel removed from the tourist density while remaining close enough to access it when you want.

The Cycladic design language — white cubic architecture, blue and green shutters and balconies, meandering stone walkways, indigenous plants — is not a stylistic choice applied for atmosphere. Nicos Valsamakis, the Greek architect behind the project, has spent his career working in this idiom. The interiors by Wimberly Interiors (whose portfolio includes properties across the Aman and Mandarin Oriental networks) bring a level of finish that Mykonos has not had at this category before. Soft tones of blue and green run through the rooms, referencing the colours of the Aegean rather than competing with them.

The rooms and suites — what you are actually booking

All 94 accommodations face the sea. The entry point is the Deluxe Sea-View Room at 45–48 square metres, with floor-to-ceiling glass doors opening onto a furnished terrace and Aegean views. The Executive Suite (60 square metres) adds a sofabed and powder room. The Premier Executive Suite adds a private plunge pool on a terrace designed as an outdoor living room — elevated views, outdoor dining setup, the full version of what a Mykonos terrace is supposed to be.

More than 30 of the 94 accommodations have private plunge pools. The One-Bedroom Sea-View Suite is a two-level design — living room opening to a large terrace with a sea-view pool at the lower level, king bedroom above. For guests wanting the experience without the complexity of a villa, this is the suite that defines what Four Seasons Mykonos is selling.

The beach, the pools, and how the property works

The resort has direct access to two beaches via a hillside path. The boat jetty enables water-based excursions — island hopping, private yacht charters, transfers to and from the main port — without depending on road access, which on Mykonos in summer is the correct way to think about logistics. Two infinity pools on the property plus a spa vitality pool. The hillside spa has 6 treatment rooms. A yoga pavilion. A 24-hour fitness centre. The resort is also designed around events — outdoor spaces for up to 200 guests, a hillside church, dedicated wedding venues.

For the right group or couple, the combination of a Mykonos address with Four Seasons operational depth means you can have the Scorpios evening, the private beach morning, and service that doesn't require you to manage the logistics yourself. Our Scorpios Mykonos 2026 guide covers the music programme and how to plan around it — the Four Seasons at Kalo Livadi is the natural base for that trip.

The dining programme

Four restaurants and bars, with the programme designed by Rockwell Group — the New York firm behind restaurants at properties including Nobu, the Cosmopolitan Las Vegas, and the Duggal Greenhouse. The confirmed concepts include an al fresco poolside Italian venue and a modern interpretation of a traditional Mykonian Kafeneio. The Kafeneio concept is the more interesting of the two — a traditional Greek coffee house reimagined for a luxury resort context, which in a destination as Instagrammed as Mykonos suggests something deliberate about grounding the property in actual Greek culture rather than a generic Mediterranean hospitality aesthetic.

What You Actually Want to Know

When does Four Seasons Hotel Mykonos open?
Late summer 2026. The property is accepting waitlist reservations now at fourseasons.com/mykonos. Exact opening date has not been confirmed — the Four Seasons press page lists 2026 as the opening year.

Where exactly is Four Seasons Hotel Mykonos?
Above Kalo Livadi Bay, on the southeastern side of Mykonos — quieter and less trafficked than the main tourist areas around Mykonos Town and Ornos. The resort is accessible from Mykonos Airport in approximately 15–20 minutes, and has its own boat jetty for water-based arrivals and excursions.

How many rooms does Four Seasons Hotel Mykonos have?
94 sea-view accommodations, including more than 30 suites with private plunge pools, spread across 6 hectares (15 acres) of coastal cliffs above the bay.

Is Four Seasons Hotel Mykonos the first Four Seasons in Greece?
It is the first Four Seasons on a Greek island. The brand also operates Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens on the Athenian Riviera.

How does Four Seasons Mykonos compare to Cavo Tagoo?
Different propositions. Cavo Tagoo is above the harbour, more intimate (76 rooms), and positioned closer to Mykonos Town's energy. Four Seasons Mykonos is larger (94 rooms), more removed from the main circuit, has direct private beach access, and operates at a different service standard. For guests who want the island without managing logistics, the Four Seasons is the stronger answer. For guests who want to be in the heart of things, Cavo Tagoo remains the address.

Four Seasons Mykonos is already on Noon's radar and on our preferred booking list for summer 2026. If you want to be in when reservations open, tell us now and we'll handle it.
